Muslims
and their apologists have a favorite verse that they shout every time Islam is called non peaceful. Even President Bush
quoted it when he hosted a Ramadan dinner in 2005:
"..killing an innocent human being is like killing all of humanity, and saving
the life of one person is like saving all of humanity."
What they don’t tell you, and for the most part they don’t know, is that the verse is from the
Jerusalem Talmud. The Talmud is not supposed to be from God, but the
writings of ancient rabbis. Why would God (Allah) quote humans?:
"Whoever
destroys a soul, it is considered as if he destroyed an entire world. And whoever saves a life, it is considered as if he
saved an entire world." Jerusalem Talmud Sanhedrin 4:1 (22a)
What they also don’t tell you
is that the Islamic version of the plagiarized Jewish verse also has a disclaimer that NO MUSLIM ever quotes. The verse
was given to the Jews after Cain killed Abel. Three translators are shown in the event that the usual accusations of having
a bad translation are cited. The exact quote from the Koran goes like this:
Notice
the disclaimer: UNLESS FOR MURDER OR MAKING MISCHIEF IN THE LAND. How can they claim that
Osama Bin Ladin and any other Islamic terrorist is not Muslim because he killed innocents and Islam does not allow that?
The Koran has NO VERSE saying not to kill innocents, and the only verse they refer to showing how peaceful
Islam is, actually says it is OK to kill people if they have created mischief in the land of Muslims. Don’t
most Muslims, and particularly Islamic terrorists believe that westerners have created mischief in Palestine, Afghanistan,
any other predominantly Muslim land that is in chaos?
That may be my interpretation, right? The Koran does not specifically say its
OK for mortals to kill those who they perceive to have committed crimes, right? WRONG.
The verse
right after the “peaceful verse” elaborates on what is to be done to those who do murder and create mischief in
the land:
"The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger, and
strive with might and main for mischief through the land is: execution, or crucifixion, or the cutting off of hands and feet
from opposite sides, or exile from the land: that is their disgrace in this world, and a heavy punishment is theirs in the
Hereafter." YusufAli 5:33
"The only reward of those who make war upon Allah and His messenger and strive
after corruption in the land will be that they will be killed or crucified, or have their hands and feet on alternate sides
cut off, or will be expelled out of the land. Such will be their degradation in the world, and in the Hereafter theirs will
be an awful doom." Pickhal 5:33 "The punishment of those
who wage war against Allah and His messenger and strive to make mischief in the land is only this, that they should be murdered
or crucified or their hands and their feet should be cut off on opposite sides or they should be imprisoned; this shall be
as a disgrace for them in this world, and in the hereafter they shall have a grievous chastisement." Shakir 5:33
It seems that when one can find the very rare Koranic
verses that condone peace and niceties, they are followed by many that condone punishment, violence, and
revenge.
Muslims also claim that Islam forbids suicide. This is explored in the Jihad section of this
website, but is so important that I will repeat it here. The verse they use is this: "O ye who believe! Eat not
up your property among yourselves in vanities: But let there be amongst you Traffic and trade by mutual good-will: Nor kill
(or destroy) yourselves: for verily Allah hath been to you Most Merciful!" YusufAli (4:29) "O ye who believe! Squander not your wealth among yourselves
in vanity, except it be a trade by mutual consent, and kill not one another. Lo! Allah is ever Merciful unto you."
Pickthal (4:29) "O you who
believe! do not devour your property among yourselves falsely, except that it be trading by your mutual consent; and do not
kill your people; surely Allah is Merciful to you. " Shakir (4:29) "O ye who believe! Squander not your wealth among yourselves in vanity, except
it be a trade by mutual consent, and kill not one another. Lo! Allah is ever Merciful unto you." Pickthal
(4:29) "O you who believe!
do not devour your property among yourselves falsely, except that it be trading by your mutual consent; and do not kill your
people; surely Allah is Merciful to you. " Shakir (4:29)
Killing oneselves indicates killing
other Muslims. They are precluded from killing other Muslims, not from suicide. Martydrom, as shown in more detail in
the JIHAD section, is encouraged and rewarded.
