Mountains

Muslims claim the Koran holds scientific facts that prove it is from God. One of the most predominantly used verses is the following. It claims the sperm alone creates a fetus. There is never any mention of an egg or the woman’s contribution except for her womb. It also claims that the sperm gets fixed in place, then turns to congealed blood.

Muslims use this verse as proof that the Koran has scientific facts. Bad move:

Man we did create from a quintessence of clay. Then we placed him as a drop of sperm in a place of rest, firmly fixed; then we made the sperm into a clot of congealed blood; then of that clot we made a lump; then we made out of that lump bones and clothed the bones with flesh; then we developed out of it another creature. (23:12-14)

In reality, the sperm never stops until it dies or reaches an egg. Then it’s the fertilized egg that gets fixed into the womb. It does not turn to congealed blood and the fetus is not made from bones before flesh. The flesh is formed before the bones.

Sperm is lodged in place again:

That he did create in pairs- male and female (53:45) from a sperm drop when lodged in its place (53:46)

Humans come from blood clots?:

O people, if you are in doubt concerning being raised up again then consider that we created you from dust, then from a sperm drop, then out of a leech like clot, then from a lump of flesh, formed and unformed. (22:5)

Sperm comes from between back and ribs? On what type of animal?:

Let man consider what he is created from. He is created from a fluid poured forth, which issues forth from between the backbone and the ribs (86:5-7)

The sun sets in mud?:

Until, when he reached the setting of the sun, he found it set in a spring of murky water: Near it he found a People: We said: "O Zul-qarnain! (thou hast authority,) either to punish them, or to treat them with kindness." 18:86

Cows form milk between excrement and blood? Milk is agreeable to all?:
And verily in cattle too will ye find an instructive sign. From what is within their bodies, between excretions and blood, we produce for your drink, milk, pure and agreeable to those who drink it (16:66)

The Koran never expressly states the Earth is flat, but it hints at it several times. It also claims that mountains were created to keep the earth in place. Many Islamic websites have been created to prove this to be actual fact:

Earth is a bed, mountains are pegs:
Have we not made the earth as a wide expanse, and the mountains as pegs? (78:6,7)
Earth is a couch, heaven a canopy:
Who has made the earth your couch and the heavens your canopy?(2:22)

Sky is raised, Earth is spread out:
Do they not look at the camels, how they are made? And at the sky, how it is raised high? And at the mountains, how they are fixed firm? And at the earth, how it is spread out? (88:17-20)

Mountains keep Earth from rolling beneath us, and heaven is a roof:

We have placed in the earth firm mountains lest it roll beneath them; and we have made wide pathways therein that they may thereby journey from place to place. We have made the heaven a guarded and protecting roof. (21:31 )

Roll up heavens like a scroll:

The day that we roll up the heavens like a scroll rolled up for books completed (21:104)

Mountains are firm, earth is spread, night is a veil, and fruits are in pairs:

· And it is he who spread out the earth, and set thereon mountains standing firm, and flowing rivers: and fruit of every kind he made in pairs, two and two: he draweth the night as a veil o’er the day. (13:3)

Earth is like a bed. Also everything is made in pairs (fruits, vegetables, amoebas?):

We have spread out the earth like a bed, and how excellently do we spread out. Of everything we have created pairs that you may reflect. (51:48,49)

Everything is made in pairs:

And we have spread out the earth: How excellently we do spread out! (51:48) And of everything we have created pairs (51:49)

Winds raise up clouds:

It is Allah who sends forth the winds, so that they raise up the clouds (35:9)

The moon follows the sun:

By the sun and its glorious splendor, by the moon as it follows the sun, (91:2)

The moon is a light:

· See ye not how Allah has created the seven heavens one above another, and made the moon a light in their midst, and made the sun as a glorious lamp? (71:15,16)

The moon gives off coldness:

Reclining in the garden on raised thrones, they will see there neither the sun’s excessive heat nor the moon’s excessive cold. (76:15)

Rainbows are from mountains:

Seest thou not that Allah sends down rain from the sky? With it we then bring out produce of various colors. And in the mountains are tracts white and red, or various shades of color, and black intense in hue.(35:27)

Days have two ends:

Observe prayer at the two ends of the day, and in the hours of the night in the proximity of the day. (11:114)

Two easts, 2 wests. Only 2 oceans and they don't touch (there is a barrier):

He is the lord of the two easts and the lord of the two wests. He has put the two oceans in motion; they will meet. Just now there is a barrier between them; they cannot encroach one upon the other. (54:2-20)
