Hadiths
are peculiarly cultural, hence are filled with idiosyncratic whims of the ancient Arabs. This is why Muslims to this day seek
to live life like they did in ancient times. If Allah said to live like Mohammad, then this is the best way to live.
Mohammad was obviously a very superstitious man. His superstitions became part of a religion that must be adhered to for eternity.
Flies' wings:
- The Prophet said "If a house fly falls in the drink of anyone of you, he
should dip it (in the drink), for one of its wings has a disease and the other has the cure for the disease." Bukhari
V4 B54 N537
Fever is from Hell:
- I
heard the Prophet saying, "Fever is from the heat of the (Hell) Fire; so cool it with water." Bukhari V4 B54 N484
Camel urine is good medicine:
- A
group of people from 'Ukl tribe came to Medina and they became ill, so the Prophet ordered them to go to the herd
of (Milch) she-camels and told them to go out and drink the camels' urine and milk (as a medicine). Bukhari V1 B4 N234
Muslims must grow beards:
- The Prophet said, "Do
the opposite of what the pagans do. Keep the beards and cut the moustaches short." Bukhari V7 B72 N780.
Shaving for men:
- There are five things from the fitra: cutting the nails, trimming
the moustache, removing the hair from the armpit, shaving the pubic region and circumcision. Muwatta 49.3.3
Shaving for women:
- The Prophet
said, "If you enter your town at night (after coming from a journey), do not enter upon your family till the woman whose
husband was absent shaves her pubic hair" Bukhari V7 B62 N173
Eat with right hand only:
The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him
and grant him peace, forbade a man to eat with his left hand or walk in
one sandal or wrap a single garment around his drawn-up legs exposing his genitals. Muwatta 49.4.5
- The
Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "When you eat, eat with your right hand and drink
with your right hand. Shaytan eats with his left hand and drinks with his left hand." Muwatta 49.4.6
Wipe with left
hands only (no less than 3 stones and no facing Mecca:) - Your Prophet teaches you everything, even about excrement. He replied: Yes.
He has forbidden us to face the qiblah at the time of easing or urinating, and cleansing with right hand, and cleansing with
less than three stones, or cleansing with dung or bone. Dawud B1 N7
Satan sleeps in your nose:
- The Prophet said, "If
anyone of you rouses from sleep and performs the ablution, he should wash his nose by putting water in it and then blowing
it out thrice, because Satan has stayed in the upper part of his nose all the night." Bukhari V4 B54 N516
Miss prayers and Satan will pee
in your ears:
- It
was mentioned before the Prophet that there was a man who slept the night till morning (after sunrise). The Prophet said,
"He is a man in whose ears (or ear) Satan had urinated." Bukhari V4 B54 N492
Mohammad first ordered
all dogs killed, then decided to have only the black ones killed:
- Allah's
Messenger ordered us to kill dogs, and we carried out his order so much that we also killed the dog coming with a woman from
the desert. Then Allah's Apostle forbade their killing. He said: It is your duty to kill the jet-black having two
spots (on the eyes), for it is a devil. Sahih Muslim B10 N281
- The Prophet said:
Were dogs not a species of creature I should command that they all be killed; but kill every pure black one. Dawud
B16 N2839
Mohammad
said he split the moon in two. To this day, Muslims believe the moon was split, and that this is legitimate proof of Mohammad's
miracle.
- During
the lifetime of the Prophet the moon was split into two parts and on that the Prophet said, "Bear witness (to thus)."
That the Meccan people requested Allah's Apostle to show them a miracle, and so he showed them the splitting of the moon.
The moon was split into two parts during the lifetime of the Prophet. Bukhari V4 B56 N830-832
All water is pure, even filthy water - I heard that the people asked the Prophet of Allah (peace_be_upon_him): Water
is brought for you from the well of Buda'ah. It is a well in which dead dogs, menstrual clothes and excrement of people
are thrown. The Messenger of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) replied: Verily water is pure and is not defiled by anything. Abu Dawud

Jesus was born wrapped in placenta:
- The Prophet said, "When any human being is born. Satan
touches him at both sides of the body with his two fingers, except Jesus, the son of Mary, whom Satan tried to touch but failed,
for he touched the placenta-cover instead." Bukari V4 B54 N506
Lesson on farting while praying:
- My uncle asked Allah's Apostle about a person who imagined to have passed wind during the prayer. Allah'
Apostle replied: "He should not leave his prayers unless he hears sound or smells something." Bukhari V1 B4 N139
The Jews worshipped Ezra and said he was the son
of God? Really?
- Then it will be said
to the Jews, “What did you use to worship?” They will reply, “We used to worship Ezra, the son of
Allah.” It will be said to them, “You are liars, for Allah has neither a wife nor a son.” Bukhari

Mohammad was an animist. Animism was adopted into Islam:
Female monkey commits fornication so other monkeys stone her:
- During the pre-lslamic period of ignorance
I saw a she-monkey surrounded by a number of monkeys. They were all stoning it, because it had committed illegal sexual intercourse.
I too, stoned it along with them. Bukhari V5 B58 N188
Palm
trees cry when they miss their religion:
- The Prophet used to stand by a tree or a date-palm on Friday. Then an Ansari woman or man said.
"O Allah's Apostle! Shall we make a pulpit for you?" He replied, "If you wish." So they made a pulpit
for him and when it was Friday, he proceeded towards the pulpit (for delivering the sermon). The date-palm cried like a child!
The Prophet descended (the pulpit) and embraced it while it continued moaning like a child being quietened. The Prophet said,
"It was crying for (missing) what it used to hear of religious knowledge given near to it." Bukhari V4 B56 N784
Food speaks
and glorifies Allah:
- Once we were with Allah's Apostle on a journey, and we ran short of water. He said,
"Bring the water remaining with you." The people brought a utensil containing a little water. He placed his hand
in it and said, "Come to the blessed water, and the Blessing is from Allah." I saw the water flowing from among
the fingers of Allah's Apostle , and no doubt, we heard the meal glorifying Allah, when it was being eaten (by him). Bukhari
V4 B56 N779
Talking
trees:
- I asked Masruq, 'Who informed the Prophet about the Jinns at the night when they
heard the Qur'an?' He said, 'Your father 'Abdullah informed me that a tree informed the Prophet about them."

Mohammad says the medicine will work and if you say it didn't your
stomach lies:
- A man came to the prophet and said, 'My brother has got loose motions. The Prophet
said, Let him drink honey." The man again came and said, 'I made him drink honey but that made him worse.' The
Prophet said, 'Allah has said the Truth, and the abdomen of your brother has told a lie." Bukhari V7 B71 N614
But the Koran says Muslims get silver goblets in heaven:
- Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "A person who drinks from a silver vessel
brings the fire of Hell into his belly." Muwatta 49.7.11
Backgammon is evil:
- The Apostle
of Allah (peace be upon him) said: He who plays backgammon disobeys Allah and His Apostle. Dawud B41 N4920
