Jew Hating

Why do Muslims hate Jews? Is it about the Israeli/Palestinian conflict? Or is the confict more about the innate hatred for Jews that Muslims have held for centuries? The Koran supports the latter:

“Humiliation and wretchedness were stamped on the Jews and they were visited with Allah’s wrath.” (2:61)

Mohammad went to Medina proclaiming to be the prophet the Jews were awaiting. When they asked him for a miracle to prove his claims, he could not give even one. The Koran and Hadiths have many passages explaining how Mohammad was incredulous that the Jews should ask for a miracle. Instead, Mohammad tried to dazzle the Jews with his knowlege of the scriptures. However, his knowledge of the Jewish scripture was so weak and erroneous, that they laughed at him. This is also discussed in length in the Koran as well as in Hadiths. Nowhere in any of the writings of the Koran or Hadiths does it show that Jews initiated the taking up of arms against Mohammad or were the aggressors. In all the acccounts of Mohammad with the Jews, their only crime was that they didn't believe him. They all paid dearly for that:

Allah's Apostle said, "Muslims will fight with the Jews till some of them will hide behind stones. The stones will betray them saying, 'O 'Abdullah (slave of Allah)! There is a Jew hiding behind me; so kill him.' " Bukhari V4 B52 N176

Allah's Apostle said, "The Hour will not be established until you fight with the Jews, and the stone behind which a Jew will be hiding will say. "O Muslim! There is a Jew hiding behind me, so kill him." Bukhari V4 B52 N177

Jews are cursed, blasphemous, obstinate, hateful mischief makers, and will never win wars:

The Jews say: "Allah's hand is tied up." Be their hands tied up and be they accursed for the blasphemy they utter. Nay, both His hands are widely outstretched: He giveth and spendeth as He pleaseth. But the revelation that cometh to thee from Allah increaseth in most of them (Jews)their obstinate rebellion and blasphemy. Amongst them we have placed enmity and hatred till the Day of Judgment. Every time they kindle the fire of war, Allah doth extinguish it; but they strive to do mischief on earth. And Allah loveth not those who do mischief. (5:64)

Jews are like apes:

“But you [Jews] went back on your word and were lost losers. So become apes, despised and hated. We made an example out of you.” (2:64)

Jews were turned to apes and pigs:

Those who incurred the curse of Allah and His wrath, those of whom some He transformed into apes and swine, those who worshipped evil;- these are worse in rank, and far more astray from the even path! (5:60)

Jews are senseless:

The Jews are devoid of sense. There is a grievous punishment awaiting them. Satan tells them not to believe so they will end up in Hell.” (59:14)

Yathrib was Medina before Mohammad and his band of pirates came to conquer them. The Yathrib people were Jewish. They were all driven into the desert and left to die: men, women, and children. This was because they refused to accept Mohammad as their prophet or Islam as their religion. This verse not only shows how the Jews were banished into the desert, but is explicit about how Allah cast terror and torment on them:
It is Allah who drove People from their Yathrib homes and in to exile. They refused to believe. Little did you think that they would get out. And they thought that their fortresses would protect them against Allah! But Allah’s torment came to them from where they did not suspect and he cast terror into their hearts, so that their dwellings were destroyed by their own hands and the hands of the Believers. Take warning, then, O ye who see. And had it not been that Allah had decreed banishment into the desert for the Children of Israel, he would have punished them in this world, and in the next they shall taste the hellfire. That is because they resisted Allah and His Messenger: and if any one resists Allah, verily Allah is severe in Punishment. (59:2-4)

Jews and pagans are the most hated to Muslims:
Strongest among men in enmity to the believers wilt thou find the Jews and pagans; and nearest among them in love to the believers wilt thou find those who say, “We are Christians”: Because amongst these are men devoted to learning and men who have renounced the world, and they are not arrogant. (5:82)

Jews cannot be trusted:
Do you expect that the children of Israel will put faith in you, when a party of them are such that they hear the word of Allah, then pervert it after they have understood it, well knowing the consequences of their enormity? (2:75)

Allah is a god who generalized that Jews are bad:
(The Children of Israel) are a people who slay one another and turn out a section of your people from their homes, backing up their enemies against them, committing sin and transgression. (2:85)

Jews are transgressors:
Moses came to you with manifest signs yet you were transgressors and did behave wrongfully. (2:92)

Jews are the greediest of all people:
Thou wilt indeed find them (the people of Moses) of all people, most greedy of life- even more than the idolaters. (2:96)

Most Jews are faithless:
Has it not been that every time they make a covenant, a party of them throws it aside? In truth most of them have no faith. (2:100)

Allah cursed the Jews:
But because of their breach (the Children of Israel) of their covenant, we cursed them, and made their hearts grow hard. (5:13)

Jesus and David cursed the Jews:
Those of the children of Israel who disbelieved were cursed by David, and by Jesus son of Mary. That was because they disobeyed and were given to transgression. (5:78)

Jews will be bitten by an insect:
When the sentence is pronounced against the children of Israel, we shall bring forth for them an insect out of the earth, which shall bite them because people did not believe in our signs (27:82) (another version says a beast will come out of the earth)
